Birthday weekend recap

Birthday weekend!!

This past Saturday I turned 24! Wahoo! 24 on 24! My weekend was filled with so many fun things!

Started out by mowing the lawn and getting ready for the day. I had a full list of places I wanted to go. I started off by going to target and picking up a few things. I always check the end caps, you can always find things on clearance. If I find something I really love but the price is just too much, I go back a few weeks later and almost always will be on clearance. The quilt I wanted to purchase so badly but it wasn’t the right size.

Afterwards I stopped at Sodalicious in Midvale and drove over to AtHome in Sandy. This is a new home décor store in Utah and I hadn’t been to one yet. I spent about 45 minutes strolling every aisle. Looking at mirrors, dining chairs, cute signs, flowers, pillows. They really have everything. I ended up walking out with only some flowers. Next I headed up the street to Hobby Lobby. Living out in Stansbury Park we don’t have any fun and exciting stores, only one grocery store so when I go into town, I go crazy. I found a really cute sign here for my foyer. You can find it here.

After that it was time to head down to Pleasant Grove to pick up my Crust Club dinner pie. If y’all haven’t been here yet, you need to. You can pick up or home delivery if you live within their limits. Each week the lineup changes so you have to keep an eye out for what they have. Last week they had BBQ Mac and I’m a sucker for mac n cheese. Go visit them! Picked that up along with some babies pies. I decided to go to Home Goods since it was just down the street. Found some adorable throw pillows for our new couch but now I’m wishing I had bought two more. Went to Nothing Bundt Cakes to get my free birthday bundtlet and also picked up two more to throw in the freezer for a later date. I always get their Red Velvet but a few of my other favorites are marble and cinnamon swirl. Stopped at Chick-fil-a for lunch then at Sodalicious for the second time today but picked Josh a drink up as well. I was super bummed though, they gave me Dr. Pepper instead of Diet Coke and didn’t realize until I was already on the freeway.

Finally got home and my backseat was jammed full. Took me three trips to get everything in. The rest of the night we just relaxed, ate our yummy Crust Club pie for dinner and watched Sons of Anarchy.IMG_9255

IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!! Josh was golfing in a tournament this morning and offered to pick me up a coffee and breakfast before he left but I didn’t want him getting up any earlier than he already had to. He left the house at 6:00am and the dogs woke me up at 6:10am and my body wasn’t allowing me to go back to sleep. I got out of bed, tried to go to sleep on the couch but it didn’t work. I had a pedicure appointment at 9:30am so I watched Scandal on Netflix until about 8:45am and left the house at 9:00am to give me some time to go get a coffee before. My pedicure was so nice and relaxing. A full hour of pampering. There is a hair salon next door and I’ve been wanting to cut a few inches off for a little. They didn’t have anything until 11:45. While I waited, I got my car washed and an oil change. When I got in my car after the oil change and there was a flower on my dashboard, so sweet! Went back for my haircut and we added layers and cut off about 8 inches of hair. I was quite shocked and a little sad at first but I’m really loving it now.IMG_9260

I got home, showered, got ready and waited for Josh to get home. Once he was home, we ate lunch, he showered and we were out the door. Josh took me on a shopping spree for my birthday. I ended up getting a majority of my clothes from TJ Maxx, go check them out, I seriously love TJ Maxx!! I bought four shirts, two shorts, a dress and a pair of jeans. We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and ended with Coldstone for dessert although we got it to go, we were too full from all the rolls.

We got home, changed into jammies, watched Sons of Anarchy and ate our ice cream.

Josh took me to breakfast Sunday morning at Penny Ann’s Cafe. After we went up to Park City and met my parents and brother so we could go zip lining.

I’ll be quite honest, I wasn’t completely thrilled with the zip line. Its $60, lasts about an hour and a half. You do a training zip line, the red pine zip line which is 750 feet and the lookout zip line which is 1950 feet. Trust me, they were so fun and exciting but I definitely expected more than just two zips. We spent more time getting to them then actually enjoying them. It’s hard for me not to compare because on our honeymoon we went on a three hour tour with 8 different zips and it was $120. But it was still way fun and I got to enjoy it with my family which is what I wanted to do. Afterwards, we went to Red Rock Brewery for lunch. My parents got me this awesome shirt that says “I just want to drink wine, save animals and take naps”. It describes me perfectly!  You can find it here. They also gave me some money so I can finally buy the wedding canvas that I want in our room! So excited to order it later this week. Once I have them on hand, I’ll do a separate post about them.

Have a great week!
